story behind this beautiful specimen. 

I was riding my bike home from work one hot summer day and passed a small feathery lump on the side walk, so naturally my bike screeched to a halt and i went to see what it was. 
this bird had fallen/been hit by a car and had been injured to the point of it being partially immobile. So i sat in the middle of the sidewalk with it, shed some tears and told him that i would help him. 
I picked him up with some leaves and he just looked at me, no fear, just curiosity… i told him i was not going to harm him but to help him and with that he moved his leg out from the leaf and grabbed onto my finger, all while keeping eye contact. 
we sat there for a while, i cried ( of course) and just let him hold on, after a while i finally placed him within a small burrow i made in a near by tree, left some food, a small bit of collected water gave my blessing and parted ways. 
I came back a few days later and the poor dear was still there and not moving. 
I packed him in a little container, brought him home and placed him within this jar filled with herbs,stone and plants.He is my favorite jar specimen though now the water is a deep burgundy from the roses i placed inside.
